Alisa Miller

In 2006, Alisa became the first woman and youngest CEO to head a major public radio network, Public Radio International (PRI) a global media company focused on the intersection of journalism and engagement to effect positive change in people’s lives. She led the organization's evolution from a radio distributor to a rapidly-growing multi-platform digital media company whilst diversifying and growing revenue streams that build global impact.

In 2018, she orchestrated PRI’s merger with PRX - the first-ever network merger in public media - creating a new, expansively open and connected media company designed for the future. She was appointed the Executive Chairman of the newly merged company. Earlier she also led the acquisition of acclaimed digital news publisher, Globalpost, by PRI. 

PRI/PRX reaches an audience of more than 28.5m monthly across broadcast and web, and with more than 58m monthly podcast downloads, it is the 2nd largest podcaster in the US. Award-winning programs included The World, This American Life, The Takeaway, Reveal, The Moth, Studio 360, On Being, Criminal, 99% Invisible, Science of Happiness and Ear Hustle. 

Alisa has extensive business development experience with leading F500 companies like Apple, Facebook, BBC, The New York Times, Slate/Panoply, Google, Spotify, CBC, and SiriusXM, and earlier headed up's new digital business development.

She regularly speaks on media, technology and our understanding of and engagement with the world, as well as on purpose driven businesses and career-paths. Her TED Talk on media's power to shape knowledge/action has been viewed 2 million times and was translated into 48 languages.

She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations, member of the Lumina Foundation Board of Directors and Distinguished Alumni Award recipient of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2015. Alisa lives in Minneapolis with her family.
